ROBOT WEEK NYC

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN ROBOTS ENTER THE CITY?

A week of conversations, experiments, robots and ideas exploring how humans and robots will work, learn and live together.

THE CITY / 8.6M

8.6 MILLION PEOPLE ALREADY SHARE THIS CITY.

NOW IMAGINE ROBOTS ENTERING THE PICTURE.

Robotics is moving beyond controlled laboratories and into the places where everyday life happens: workplaces, classrooms, public spaces, streets, stores, homes and transportation systems.

Robot Week asks how machines can enter those spaces with care. It centers human–robot coexistence—not as a distant idea, but as a design, engineering and cultural question already arriving in the city.

NYC / FUTURE RESEARCH

8.6 MILLION PEOPLE.

ONE EXTREMELY COMPLICATED CITY.

+ ROBOTS.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN ROBOTS ENTER SPACES DESIGNED AROUND HUMANS?

New York compresses millions of people, languages, systems, behaviors and interactions into a shared environment. A robot deployed here must do more than navigate a map. It must understand the conditions around it—and be understandable to the people it encounters.

Robot Week introduces a longer research direction for The Robot Age: layering city open data, human factors, infrastructure, accessibility, mobility and cultural context to study where and how robots can operate successfully.

WHO SHOULD COME

THE CITY NEEDS MORE THAN ROBOTICISTS.

ENGINEERS.DESIGNERS.CODERS.ARTISTS.RESEARCHERS.BUILDERS.STUDENTS.THE CURIOUS.

You do not need to be a robotics engineer to participate.

Robot Week is designed for people interested in how robotics may affect technology, design, work, education and everyday life.
